EPOCH Services With the EPOCH Software license certain services are included in the price or may be provided at the customer’s option, such as; Software maintenance includes all new releases, support calls, regulatory change enhancements, etc. and is included within the license fee for the first year of installation for a muti-user installation and for 90 days with a single user PC site. Thereafter, at the customer’s option, maintenance is provided on an annual basis and priced separately at either 15% of the then current purchase price for a two year commitment, paid annually, and 20% for a one year term. Training is conducted on-site and charged at a daily fee plus instructor expenses at cost. Our recommendation is for 1 day of training for each 3 modules purchased. Some customers find the custom report writer included within the product very useful and take an additional day of training on this tool at the same time. Data conversion and custom programming services, if required, are billed at a fixed hourly rate plus expenses at cost. In our experience, we have always been able to convert data from other systems and avoid manual data entry to populate the EPOCH databases initially. Any custom program changes we make for a client installation, unless requested otherwise, will be put into the base product and maintained under the standard software maintenance policy for EPOCH. We have built or helped in-house staffs build many different types of interfaces to existing production systems to collect data electronically. We recommend minimizing the data entry work by using data from other production systems as input to EPOCH if possible. The more participation by the in-house data processing staff on any of these tasks, the lower the cost.
